Mint Asset Management is a specialist boutique funds manager providing investment vehicles and solutions for retail and institutional investors.
New tax and legislative changes means some managed fund investments in New Zealand and Australian securities will be no longer subject to arduous and inequitable income tax restrictions. Mint Asset Management has designed a family of investment products for different levels of risk appetite with the performance of each fund expressed in terms of an expected return in excess of the risk-free rate (typically the New Zealand 90-day Bank Bill Rate). Their portfolio managers are provided with the financial incentive to deliver superior investment returns through performance fees. They also share in the company's growth and prosperity as shareholders.
Retail Fund Offerings
Mint offers a series of New Zealand retail unit trusts established under a common Master Trust Deed dated 22 December 2006.
Each unit trust has New Zealand Permanent Trust, a subsidiary of Public Trust, as independent Trustee and each fund is independently administered by MMC Limited.
These funds are registered as Portfolio Investment Entities (PIEs) with New Zealand's IRD and investment is available to New Zealand resident investors who provide a suitable form of identification.
In each case the minimum investment is $5,000.00 with subsequent investments subject to a minimum investment of $2,000.00.
Mint's range of funds include:

Private Portfolio Service (PPS) is a Master Trust administered by OnePath. It has been developed as both a series of unit trusts and a superannuation fund, representing a broad range of asset classes and fund managers.
Private Portfolio Service provides investors with the opportunity to diversify their portfolio, without the need to rebalance different investments across a number of fund managers and products.
As well as offering a variety of investment options, the consolidated reporting system used for Private Portfolio Service means investors receive a single report detailing their entire investment portfolio. The result is a substantial reduction in the volume of paperwork for investors to manage.
There are 14 funds in Private Portfolio Service to choose from. Each fund is available as a unit trust or as a superannuation fund.
First Mortgage Trust (FMT) was established in early 1996. The primary purpose of the Trust was to establish a vehicle by which investors could deposit money for an interest return greater than one year trading bank term deposit rates, whilst enjoying the security offered by investments in first mortgages.
